2017 at University Hall (UniHall) saw the community exploding with creative and artistic individuals. UWA students not only studying art were getting involved in art workshops from illustrations and painting to photography, video production and creating material projects.
From this the UniHall Arts Competition was born were residents had the opportunity to create and submit a piece of their own in the categories of illustration, painting, photography and digital creations. All entries were displayed in the UniHall Arts Exhibition in the Dining Hall were all members of the UWA community were invited to vote on their favourite pieces.
This is how our four winners were selected. Congratulations to:
Natasha winner of the illustration category
Colleen winner of the painting category
Max winner of the digital category
Richa winner of the photography category
"My artwork is of the beautiful Matilda Bay, one of my favourite spots to enjoy as a UniHall resident. It captures a relaxed spring day by the river watching the cygnets and the yachts out on the water. I feel really honoured to be voted to win the painting art prize this year," says Colleen.
UniHall is proud of all the talented residents who submitted their artistic pieces and will continue this new born tradition into 2018.
